EXHIBITION “EDUCATION OF SERBIAN STUDENTS IN EXILE, FRANCE 1916 – 1918”
OPENS AT THE ROYAL COMPOUND

Belgrade, 16 December 2009 – Under auspices of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II and the Secretariat for Culture of the City of Belgrade, the Educational Museum in Belgrade opened an exhibition “Education of Serbian students in exile, France 1916 – 1918”, prepared by Mrs. Maja Nikolova, MBA, at the Thatched House in the Royal Compound in Dedinje.

On behalf of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II, Mr. Dragomir Acovic, member of the Privy Council welcomed the guests and wished them a successful exhibition. Mr. Nemanja Antovic, director of Educational Museum also addressed the guests and made short presentation of the Educational Museum. The exhibition was opened by Prof. Dr Ljubinka Trgovcevic.

During and after World War One, France gave refuge to over 3000 Serbian high school and university students, many of them soldiers in the Serbian Army, who used the chance for education in one of most prosperous countries in the world for the benefit of Serbia and personal development.

The exhibition will be open to the public on Thursday, December 17 and Friday, December 18, from 11 a.m. and 2 pm. To visit the exhibition, please call 011/306 4014 one day before visiting.
