CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II ATTENDS THE
ENTHRONEMENT OF NEW PATRIARCH
OF SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH
Belgrade 23 January, 2010 – Their Royal
Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine attended the enthronement of the newly elected
Archbishop of Pec, Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovac and
Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej, held
today in the Cathedral in Belgrade.
The enthronement was officiated by the
Archbishops, Bishops and Canons and Constitution of the Serbian
Orthodox Church. The ceremony was attended by the highest state
officials among who were H.E. Mr. Mirko Cvetkovic, Prime
Minister, H.E. Mr. Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of Republika
Srpska, H.E. Prof. Dr Slavica Djukić Dejanovic, Speaker of the
House, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior,
H.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic, H.E. Prof. Dr Bogoljub Sijakovic, Minister
of Religion, Mr. Dragan Djilas, Mayor of the City Belgrade,
Heads of the Religious Communities H.E. Monsignor Orlando
Antonini, the Apostolic Nuncio, H.E. Monsignor Stanislav
Hocevar, the Roman Catholic Metropolitan and Archbishop of
Belgrade, Mr. Adem ef. Zilkic, Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic
Community of Serbia, Mr. Muhamed ef. Jusufspahic, Mufti of
Belgrade, members of the Diplomatic Corps among who were H.E.
Mr. Alexander Konuzin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to
Serbia, H.E. Mr. Wolfram Maas, German Ambassador to Serbia, as
well as a large number of citizens.
After the Holy Liturgy a reception took place
in the Patriarchy of Serbian Orthodox Church building. |
