CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND PRINCE PHILIP ATTEND A SOLEMN EVENT ON THE EVE OF SERBIA’S STATEHOOD DAY

Belgrade, 14 February 2010 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Prince Philip attended tonight a Solemn Academy for the February 15, The Statehood Day of Serbia, hosted by the H.E. Mr. Boris Tadic, President of Serbia, at the National Theatre in Belgrade.

The event was very well attended by distinguished guests – His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, H.E. Dr Rajko Kuzmanovic, President of Republika Srpska, H.E. Dr Mirko Cvetkovic, Prime Minister of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, H.E. Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Speaker of Serbian Parliament, NJ.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic, first deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the interior, H.E. Dr Jovan Krkobabic, deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Dragan Sutanovac, Minister of Defense, H.E. Mr. Vuk Jeremic, Minister of foreign affairs, H.E. Mr. Nebojsa Bradic, Minister of culture, H.E. Dr Slobodan Milosavljevic, Minister of trade and services, H.E. Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Philip will attend the central celebration of the Statehood Day of Serbia as well as the 206th anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising in Orasac, near Topola, on Monday, 15 February, and the church ceremony in the Holy Ascension Church. Their Royal Highnesses will lay wreaths and pay respects at the monument and tomb of Supreme leader of the First Serbian Uprising Djordje Petrovic Karadjordje, the Founding father of Karadjordjevic Royal Dynasty.
