ROYAL COUPLE DELIVER MAMMOGRAPHY MACHINE TO
PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE ODZACI, GAVE EASTER PRESENTS TO CHILDREN AND
ATTENDED GALLERY OPENING IN HONOUR OF SAVA STOJKOV IN SOMBOR
Belgrade, 29 March 2010 – Their Royal Highnesses
Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, together
with Dr Tomislav Stantic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Health,
delivered a mammography machine to the Primary Health Centre Odzaci
this afternoon.
This valuable donation was purchased thanks to
Lifeline Humanitarian Organization from Chicago and the HRH Crown
Princess Foundation.
In her speech Princess Katherine emphasized: “It
is a great pleasure that I have the opportunity to deliver this
valuable donation. Breast cancer is a huge problem for our country
that can be resolved by implementing adequate programmes. It is of
great importance that all structures of our society engage in
preventing this terrible disease. I would also like to emphasize
that my Foundation strongly supports the Serbia against cancer
National program, and so far has donated one mobile digital
mammography unit and three mammography machines to health
institutions in Serbia”.
Later on, The Royal Couple together with Dr.
Tomislav Stantic visited the refugee camp “Srpski Miletic”, Home for
children without parental care “Mika Antic” in Sombor and Health
Centre in Sombor where they delivered clothes and sweets to the
children for the Easter holidays.
Following the programme, Their Royal Highnesses
attended the opening of the Gallery for the 65th anniversary of work
and 85th birthday of painter Sava Stojkov. The ceremony was
officially opened by Dr. Bojan Pajtic, President of the Executive
Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The event was also
attended by: Dr. Slobodan Milosavljevic, Minister of Trade and
Services, Mr. Milorad Djuric, Secretary for Culture of the
Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Mr. Radovan Jelasic, Governor of
the Central Bank and many others. |
