CHILDREN’S EASTER MAGIC AT THE PALACE OF PRINCESS LJUBICA IN BELGRADE

Belgrade, 1 April 2010 – On behalf of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, Mr. Dragomir Acovic, member of the Privy Council, attended the traditional children’s event “Children’s Easter Magic” at the Palace of Princess Ljubica on Great Thursday (before Easter). His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia blessed many children from Serbia and surrounding countries, and wished them happy Easter holidays.

This international event has been organized since 2006 by the Children of Palilula and Church of St. Marks in Belgrade, under auspices of HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and the City Assembly of Belgrade. This year, it gathered children from Belgrade and Kosovo and Metohija, as well as children from neighbouring countries. All children were encouraged to express their creativity by painting the beautiful Easter eggs.

Later on the children visited The Royal Compound on Dedinje where they had the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the White and Royal Palace’s and to be introduced to the historical and art heritage of the Royal Family.
