PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT KRAGUJEVAC AND ARANDJELOVAC
Delivery of the mammography machine and
warm table for babies to Hospital in Arandjelovac
Kragujevac, 6 May 2010 – Their Royal
Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine visited Kragujevac today where they attended
official celebration on the occasion of Day of Kragujevac.
HRH Crown Prince Alexander II attended solemn ceremony at
the City Hall of Kragujevac. City of Kragujevac is marking
the May 6, the Saint George Day, in remembrance of Assembly
session of 1818, when Kragujevac was declared the first
Capital of the modern Serbian state.
The official celebration started at the
City Hall, with the awarding ceremony for the most
accomplished citizens of Kragujevac in the presence of H.E.
Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Speaker of the Parliament
of Serbia, H.E. Ms. Snezana Samardzic Markovic, Minister of
youth and sports, H.E. Mr. Nebojsa Bradic, Minister of
culture, H.E. Mr. Armando Varricchio, Italian Ambassador to
Serbia, H.E. Mr. Stephen Wordsworth, Her Britannic Majesty’s
Ambassador to Serbia, Mr. Veroljub Stevanovic, the Mayor of
Kragujevac, representatives of the City Assembly and many
distinguished guests.
After the ceremony, Their Royal
Highnesses paid a visit to the University of Kragujevac and
the University Career Centre. During this visit The Royal
Couple was hosted by Prof. Dr Slobodan Arsenijevic, Rector
of Kragujevac University who accompanied them while touring
the Career Centre. Career Centre of the University of
Kragujevac is one of four University Centres launched on the
initiative of Crown Prince Alexander’s Foundation for
Education. It was opened in 2007 to help students find
better job opportunities, training, as well as assisting
them in connecting with the business community.
Later on Their Royal Highnesses attended
the opening of the exhibition “Identity” at the National
Museum of Kragujevac.
In the afternoon, Their Royal Highnesses
visited orphanage “Mladost” where they spent lovely time
with children and gave them sweets and toys.
On Friday, May 7, Their Royal Highnesses
Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine will
attend the opening of Soko gym “Sokolana” in Kragujevac, the
founding ceremony of Kingdom of Serbia Association in the
Hotel “Kragujevac” and visit the General Hospital in
Arandjelovac where they will deliver mammography machine and
warm table for babies. |
