THE CHANCELLERY OF H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II VISITS POŽAREVAC Upon the invitation of Požarevac Municipality officials,
H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II visited today Court of Braničevo
Eparchy, Municipality of Požarevac and primary school formerly named by
Veljko Dugošević that from today carries the name of King Aleksandar
I. Crown Prince Aleksandar II first visited the Court of
Braničevo Eparchy where he was warmly welcomed by Reverent Bishop of
Braničevo Ignjatije with priests, school representatives and
Municipality officials. After the visit of the Court of Braničevo Eparchy
and Cathedral of Saint Archangels Michael and Gabriel, at a primary school “Veljko Vlahović” Crown Prince
revealed a board with the new name of the school “King Aleksandar I” and
Bishop Ignjatije consecrated the school. Addressing those present, Crown Prince Aleksandar II
said: “My grandfather King Aleksandar spent more time in military uniform
fighting for the liberation of Serbia than in cabinet and at the balls. He
was brave and modest man that loved his people and struggled for them. Today the memory of King Aleksandar is bright again and
today this beautiful school returns to the name of King Unifier and
Martyr.” In a presence of numerous professors, students and
citizens of Požarevac performance and cocktail have been organized at the
school. Crown Prince
Aleksandar II visited afterwards Municipality of Požarevac where he met the
Municipality officials and discussed current situation in that region. On that occasion he invited all citizens of Požarevac to
join the slogan of the Royal House “democracy, peace, prosperity” and to
