CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE’S MOTHER SADLY PASSES AWAY

Athens, 27 August 2010 - Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine’s mother sadly passed away last night in Athens following a long illness. Mrs Ana Batis had been seriously ill for over two months.

Mrs Batis lived in New York and Athens. She was very devoted to her family, charity and the care of people. Mrs Batis had a very big heart, was very much loved and always smiled.

Mrs Batis is survived by her husband Mr Robert Batis, her daughters Crown Princess Katherine and Mrs Betty Roumeliotis, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will take place in Athens and will be a private one. Crown Princess Katherine and her family are very grateful for the many messages of sympathy and kind words they have received.
