OPENING OF THE FIRST SERBIAN DIASPORA MEDICAL CONFERENCE AT
THE WHITE PALACE
Belgrade, 2 September 2010 – His Royal Highness Crown
Prince Alexander hosted a reception for the participants of
the First Serbian Diaspora Medical Conference 2010:
“Together – fit for the future” tonight at the White Palace.
This event was organized by Lifeline Humanitarian
Organization, Ministry of Diaspora, Serbian Medical Chamber,
and Association of Serbian Doctors and Dentists in Germany
“GSAeZ”. The Honorary Patrons of the Conference are Crown
Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine.
Crown Princess Katherine was unable to be at the opening.
A special letter from the Crown Princess was read praising
all participants, cooperation, exchange and with the wish
that hoping this conference will become an annual event
At the opening ceremony speeches were delivered by HRH
Crown Prince Alexander, HE Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic
Dejanovic, Speaker of the House, H.E. Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic,
Minister of Diaspora, and Dr Tatjana Radosavljevic, Director
of Serbian medical chamber, who all addressed the guests
together with Dr Dragana Cupic, member of the board of
Lifeline Chicago and Dr Mima Andrejevic Kry, president of
“GSAeZ”.
Welcoming the guests, HRH Crown Prince Alexander emphasized: “This is a historic event. Serbia has a great
Diaspora, whose members have accomplished impressive things
professionally and individually all over the world. I am
certain that this first conference will help our doctors in
Serbia to get to know our doctors working abroad, to
exchange ideas and build professional ties, and to encourage
them to start new projects for the benefit of all citizens
of Serbia“.
H.E. Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Speaker of the
Parliament of Serbia and member of the Honorary Committee of
the conference, emphasized that Serbian Parliament values
very much our Diaspora, and is fostering relationships with
our compatriots working and living abroad. Our people in the
Diaspora showed not just great patriotism but also profound
understanding of the difficulties that Serbia is facing in
times of transition, and on its road towards membership of
the European Union, she added.
H.E. Mr Srdjan Sreckovic, Minister of Diaspora, expressed
his hopes that was just the beginning of cooperation with
our medical Diaspora, and that this event would become a
traditional one.
Dr Tatjana Radosavljevic, Director of Serbian medical
chamber, has said: ““We are here today to mark a new
beginning, a new cooperation which aims to improve people’s
lives. Collaboration which is not just cooperation, but much
more. Collaboration which is based on purest emotion,
towards our homeland and our people. ” |
