CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE ATTEND
CHICAGO CHARITY EVENT IN AID OF SOMBOR ORPHANAGE

Chicago organized yesterday a fundraising event “Flavors of Serbia” in the
Chicago Cultural Center to collect funds for the reconstruction of Sombor
Orphanage. Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine and her grandchildren Amanda and Nicolas were present. The Consul
General of Serbia in Chicago Mr Desko Nikitovic delivered a warm speech
introducing Crown Prince Alexander.
The President of Chicago Lifeline Chicago Mrs Kathy Fanslow
introduced Crown Princess Katherine. Members of the Board of Lifeline Chicago,
representatives of Serbian community in Chicago and over 200 guests attended
this extraordinary event.
His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland (Russian Orthodox Church
Outside of Russia) blessed all present.
Their Royal Highnesses spoke and were pleased to support the
cause and help the children of Serbia, especially the most vulnerable ones, to
have happier and better lives. Crown Princess Katherine expressed her grateful
thanks to the board of Lifeline Chicago for all their hard work.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown
Princess Katherine visited today Mettawa-Lake Forest where they attended Divine
Liturgy served by His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern
America at St. Basil Church. Their Royal Highnesses were enthusiastically
greeted by few hundred faithful in front of the Church.
In the afternoon, Their Royal Highnesses visited the
gravesides of His Majesty King Peter II of Yugoslavia (the late father of Crown
Prince Alexander) and Prince Andrej of Yugoslavia (the late uncle of Crown
Prince Alexander). His Grace Bishop Longin at St. Sava Monastery led prayers. |
