CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER’S STATEMENT REGARDING EUROPEAN COUNCIL
POSITIVE DECISION ABOUT SERBIA

Belgrade, 26 October 2010 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II expressed his endorsement regarding the European Council positive decision yesterday to forward Serbia’s application for European Union membership to the European Commission. The Crown Prince extended his congratulations to everyone who contributed through hard work and vision toward this good outcome.

“This is another important step for Serbia on the long road toward European integration. There is still much to be done ahead for Serbia, its’ leadership and its’ citizens, until we reach our final goal. Therefore it is very important that we take good care of our economy along the way. Doing things that way will bring us into Europe even before administrative membership. We also have to take care of our identity within this process, because we have to be aware who we are, what we stand for and what our aspirations are, so that we can explain that to others, and that they will understand us and accept us the way we are”, said the Crown Prince in his statement.
