The Chancellery of
HRH Crown Prince Alexander

STATEMENT

In connection with the murder of six Serbian youngsters in Pec, HRH Crown Prince Alexander has given this statement:

Shocked at the news of the senseless murder of six youngsters by masked intruders last Monday in Pec, I want to express my great sorrow at the tragic loss of young lives and to condemn the perpetrators of this repulsive crime in the strongest possible terms.    Six young men have been killed only because they were members of a different faith, in other words, they were killed out of blind hatred.  This act shows that the terrorist perpetrators of the murder do not want a common life of Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo since an ethnically cleansed Kosovo is their aim.   It is necessary to tackle resolutely these men and all acts of terrorism since there is enough bread and enough land for both Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo.   We all need peace but peace cannot be achieved by terrorist criminal acts.   The only consolation in this tragedy is our hope that the enormity of this crime will make everyone regardless of religion or ethnic origin renounce the use of force and violence since a solution can be found only through peaceful negotiations

Paying homage to the memory of six young victims, we want to convey our most sincere condolences to their families and to assure them that the Serbian people share in their grief and sorrow.  We pray Our Lord to give grant peace to these young and innocent victims.   Vyechnaya pamyat!
