ROYAL COUPLE ATTEND OPENING OF HUMBOLDT – KOLLEGS
CONFERENCE AT SERBIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS
Belgrade, 28 October 2010 – Their Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander II
and Crown Princess Katherine attended today the official opening of Humboldt –
Kollegs International scientific conference “Science and education in
transition”, at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA).
HRH Crown Prince Alexander addressed participants at the opening ceremony
emphasizing: “I would like to commend the Humboldt Club Serbia for organizing
this important conference. Science and education are subjected to profound
change in times of transition, and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts is
the right place to review the impact of these changes on our educational system.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, Bonn)
aims to strengthen regional and professional networking between its alumni as
well as to ecourage junior researchers' interest. The Humboldt Club of Serbia
was founded in 1990 in Belgrade, as an association of Alexander von Humboldt
Foundation scholars from Serbia.
Mr. Dragomir Acovic, member of the Privy Council, will welcome participants
of the conference on behalf of TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess
Katherine at a reception Friday, October 29, at 8 pm at the White Palace.
