PRINCESS KATHERINE AND VESNA MANDIC BRING HUMANITARIAN AID
TO ZEMUN HOSPITAL
Belgrade, 24 February 2011 – HRH Crown Princess Katherine,
together with Ms. Vesna Mandic, delivered today valuable humanitarian aid to
Zemun Hospital.
This important donation is provided thanks to the funds
raised during last year’s humanitarian fashion show traditionally held for St.
Valentine’s Day at the White Palace.
As a part of this action reconstruction of the mammography
unit in Zemun hospital was finished and negatoscope (a machine for reading
mammography records), computer and printer were purchased for this department.
During the humanitarian fashion show, held 14 February 2010
at the White Palace, the famous Italian designer Renato Balestra, and Serbian
designers Predrag Vukasinovic and Dragana Ognjenovic presented their works and
helped to raise funds for this humanitarian goal supporting the Breast Cancer
Campaign.
Doc. Dr Dragos Stojanovic, director of Zemun hospital, HRH
Crown Princess Katherine, and Ms. Vesna Mandic addressed medical staff and
guests during ceremony.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine has emphasized in her speech:
“This valuable donation is result of our cooperation, and it will provide better
quality of services to patients of this hospital. As a woman, I feel obliged to
help in fighting breast cancer, which can be treated and shouldn’t end up by
death. It is crucial that we continue our joint efforts in fighting this
terrible disease and give women in Serbia better chance in doing so. I repeat
that breast cancer is curable and death is not an option!” |
