HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE OPENS TENTH TRADITIONAL EASTER
REFUGEE WOMEN’S HANDICRAFTS BAZAAR
Belgrade, 8 April 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine together with Mr. Vladimir Cucic, Serbian
Commissioner for Refugees and Mrs. Mirjana Bozidarevic, President of the Stari
Grad Municipality opened today the tenth traditional Easter refugee women’s
handicrafts Bazaar at the Municipality Stari Grad.
At the beginning of the ceremony speeches were delivered by
Mrs. Mirjana Bozidarevic, President of Stari Grad Municipality, Mr. Vladimir
Cucic, Serbian Commissioner for Refugees and HRH Crown Princess Katherine who
officially opened the bazaar.
Her Highness emphasized in her speech: "All proceedings from
this humanitarian event are in aid of women refugees and their families and
other socially deprived citizens. Therefore, by buying these unique traditional
Serbian items, you are assisting those who are the most vulnerable in our
society. So please invite your friends and neighbours to come to visit the
traditional Easter Bazaar”.
The official opening was attended by H.E. Mrs. Nengcha
Lhouvum Mukhopadhaya, Ambassador of India, H.E. Mrs. Mercedes Ruiz Zapata,
Ambassador of Mexico, H.E. Mr. Samuel Valis-Akyianu, Ambassador of Ghana, with
his wife, representatives of Macedonian embassy, and many other distinguished
guests.
The Humanitarian Easter Bazaar gathered over 40 exhibitors
this year, including several schools for children with developmental problems.
HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation would like to thank
Municipality of Stari grad, Atelje 212, Bakery Trpkovic, Digital Printing Center
for their help in organizing Humanitarian Easter bazaar.
The Bazaar will be opened every day from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm
until Sunday, 10 April. |
