HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER OPENS SECOND BALKAN CULINARY CUP
Belgrade, 10 April 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince
Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted today the official opening of
The Second Balkan Culinary Cup at The White Palace.
At the official ceremony speeches were delivered by His Royal
Highness Crown Prince Alexander, Mr. Gissur Gudmundsson, Chairman of the Board
of Directors of the World Association of Culinary Association (WACS) and Mr.
Petar Gajic, Vice President of the Culinary Federation of Serbia.
The Crown Prince emphasized in his speech: “My wife and I are
very pleased to host the opening of The Second Balkan Culinary Cup. This event
is very important not only because it gives us the opportunity to present the
history, tradition and cuisine of our lovely country, but also gives us great
opportunity to be introduced to international cuisine and develop tighter
cooperation with our neighboring countries.”
Among the guests at the opening were members of diplomatic
corps, H.E. Mr. Toshio Tsunozaki, Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. Alexandre Addor
Neto, Ambassador of Brazil, H.E. Mrs. Mercedes Ruiz Zapata, Ambassador of
Mexico, and H.E. Mr. Samuel Alis – Akyianu, Ambassador of Ghana, and many other
The First Balkan Culinary Cup took place in 2009 and gathered
most the distinguished Chefs from South Eastern Europe. The Second Balkan
Culinary Cup will be held from 11-13 April 2011 in Belgrade, in the premises of
GENEX Impulse Hall, Hotel Continental Belgrade.
At the opening held at the White Palace, over 150 guests were
welcomed by The Royal Couple, including business leaders as well as
representatives of the social life of Serbia.
