ROYAL COUPLE VISITS SOMBOR
HUMANITARIAN AID TO HOSPITAL AND CHILDREN WITHOUT PARENTAL CARE
Bellgrade, 15 April 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown
Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited Sombor today. They have
met with Mr. Nemanja Delic, the Mayor of Sombor, Mr. Sinisa Lazic, President of
the City Assembly, and Dr Lazar Racic, member of the City Council and memebrs of
the City assembly.
In his address, HRH Crown Prince Alexander has emphasized:
„Sombor is extraordinary example that citizens of different ethnic origin and
different religions could live in harmony. Only in that spirit and if we work
together, we can make better future for our children and overcome existing
difficulties. My wife and I are very happy to visit Sombor again, and I wish you
all the best“.
After the meeting at the Municipality building, Their Royal
Highnesses have visited the Orthodox church of St. George, where the Archipriest
Savo Nikolic welcomed them. After that, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Roman
catholic church, and Father Josip Pekanovic welcomed them. Then they have
visited Jewish Municapity of Sombor, where president of the Municapilty Mr. Sasa
Cvejin welcomed dear guests.
After that, Their Royal Highnessses visited Home for children
without parental care „Miroslav Mika Antic“, and delivered humanitarian aid
consisting of diapers, sugar and toys for children. Their Royal Highnesses were
welcomed by director of the Home Mrs. Nada Starcevic and chidlren who played a
wonderful performance. HRH Crown Princess Katherine was very much touched by
children’s behavior and stressed out in her speech: „Taking care of our chidren
is the best and most important part of our lives. We came here today to spend
some time with these wonderful chidlren, and to mark reconstruction of
bathrooms, that have been done thanks to donation of Lifeline Chicago
humanitarian organization. I would like to thank also the Sumadijalek – Alapis
company, who contributed with their donation“. |
