TRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE ATTEND 2010 BELGRADE AWARDS

Belgrade, 19 April 2011 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended today the presentation of Belgrade Awards for 2010 at the City Assembly of Belgrade. This ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests, including Mr. Dragan Djilas, the Mayor of Belgrade, Mr. Aleksandar Antic, president of the City Assembly, His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, H.E. Ms. Snezana Samardzic Markovic, Minister of Youth and Sports, and H.E. Mr. Predrag Markovic, Minister of Culture, Media and Information, and representatives of the public and cultural life of Belgrade and Serbia.

The Belgrade Award is presented to the most distinguished citizens of Belgrade for nine years in a row for extraordinary achievements in different fields. This year the award was given to: Mr. Veselin Markovic, for literature, Mr. Boris Komnenic, for theatre, Mr. Nikola Lezaic and Mr. Milos Jacimovic, for film and television, Mr. Nikola Koka Jankovic, for painting and applied arts, Ms. Aneta Ilic, for music, Prof. Dr Dragoljub Micunovic for humanistic sciences, Mr. Vladimir Dragovic and Ms. Milena Radnovic, for science and technical sciences, Prof. Dr Nada Popovic, for medicine, Prof. Slobodan Rajovic, Prof. Dr Zoran Nikezic and Prof. Vasilije Milunovic, for architecture, Ms. Brankica Stankovic, for journalism, Mr. Dejan Bozic for agriculture, Ms. Nada Trifkovic, for education, Ms. Zorana Arunovic, for sports, Mr. Renato Grbic for heroic act, Ms. Slobodanka Aleksic and Mr. Branislav Milicevic for contribution to development, Group “Night of Museums” for events of special importance. For youth category winners were Strawbery energy team and Mr. Vladimir Trmcic, while Zoran Djordjevic, a firefighter and Fire unit Kosutnjak received “Svetislav Stojanovic” award.
