PRINCESS KATHERINE DELIVERS HEART EQUIPMENT TO TIRSOVA
HOSPITAL THANKS TO LIFELINE UK,
YOUNG PRINCES AND THEIR FRIENDS
DONATION WORTH 33,000 EUROS
Belgrade, 19 May 2011 – Her Royal Highness Crown Princess
Katherine visited today the University Children’s Hospital in Tirsova, where she
delivered a donation worth 33,000 Euros of desperately needed equipment for
cardiology purchased thanks to Lifeline United Kingdom Humanitarian
Organization. Her Royal Highness is the patron of Lifeline Humanitarian
Organization.
This donation was thanks to a charity event that took place
in Claridge’s hotel in London where Crown Prince Alexander was born. The
donation was thanks to the effort of the young Princes and their friends.
At the official ceremony speeches were delivered by Crown
Princess Katherine, Prof. Dr. Ida Jovanovic, Director of the Clinic and Prof.
Dr. Zoran Krstic, the Head of the Urology Department.
While presenting donation of two machines for surgery and
endoscopic equipment for urology, a donation of Lifeline United Kingdom, as well
as medical supplies consumables, a donation of Lifeline Chicago, the Crown
Princess emphasized that she is very proud about the work and endeavors of the
Lifeline offices that are operating hard for the benefit of Serbian people. The
Crown Princess said “This valuable donation thanks to the dear friends of
Lifeline is to support the great work of the doctors at the Children’s Clinic. I
firmly believe it will be well used for the benefit of all the patients” added
Crown Princess Katherine.
Following the delivery, Her Royal Highness visited little
patients in their rooms in several departments.
Crown Princess Katherine also visited the Center for
protection of infants, children and youth in Zvecanska Street where she
delivered an Otto Bock stroller to a girl who lives in Zvecanska, as well as
wheel chairs, socks, blankets, clothes, sweets and juices. This donation was
provided by Lifeline Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. David and Nada Stevens-Stepanovic and
Company Veropoulos. |
