RECEPTION FOR PARTICIPANTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “BALKANS ON THE EVE OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR”
AT THE ROYAL PALACE
Belgrade, 7 December 2011 – Participants of the International Scientific Conference “Balkans on the eve of the First World War” were guests at a reception at the Royal Palace in Belgrade tonight. The Conference is organized by the Institute for Contemporary History, Faculty of Security Studies, Fund “Russian World” from Moscow, Russian Embassy in Belgrade and several other educational institutions from Serbia, Republika Srpska and Russia.
On behalf of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, guests were welcomed by Mr. Dragomir Acovic, chairman of the Crown Council. Dr Momcilo Pavlovic, director of Institute for Contemporary History also addressed the guests. H.E. Mr. Alexander V. Konuzin, Ambassador of Russian Federation to Serbia also attended the reception.
This unique conference addressing political situation and conflict of interest among great powers of that era in the Balkans and in Europe before the First World War.
The conference has gathered around fifty prominent experts from Russia, United States of America, France, Japan, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who tried to give new perspectives and provide answers to major questions that are still very current, almost one century later. |
