CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT NEGOTIN
Car Fiat Punto delivered to the Health Centre Negotin, computer and toys to the institution for children and youth and a set of books to the elementary school
Negotin, 18 April 2012 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Negotin today. Their Royal Highnesses delivered a “Fiat Punto”, a donation from the Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and Fiat Automobili Srbija to the Health Centre in this town, the computer and toys to the Institution for Children and Youth “Stanko Paunovic”, and the set of books to the “Branko Radicevic” elementary school.
Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by the Municipality President, Dr Vlajko Djordjevic, who arranged a reception in their honour.
Crown Prince Alexander emphasized in his statement that the city of Negotin and the entire Negotinska Krajina have bright tradition of freedom and the important role in forming the modern Serbian state. He added that today as well, in the time of the global economic crisis that affects our country, we have to depend in our own strengths, vision and hard work.
After the reception in the municipality’s assembly, the Royal Couple toured the church of the Holy Trinity in the downtown Negotin and then visited the Health Centre Negotin where they handed over the car “Fiat Punto”, a donation from Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and the company Fiat Automobili Srbija. On the same occasion, baby-tapes were also donated. Their Royal Highnesses were then, escorted by the director of the Health Centre Negotin, Dr Tihomir Milovanovic, they visited the Children’s department of the Health Centre and gave toys to the young patients in this department.
Crown Princess Katherine said on this occasion: „The Fiat Punto vehicle for your centre is being obtained with a help of our friends from the company Fiat Automobili Srbija, and I warmly thank them for that. Without help of humane people from Serbia, we could not realise our numerous projects. My husband Crown Prince Alexander and I will continue to help health institutions in Serbia with a help of our noble friends, as we did so far.
Their Royal Highnesses then continued to the Institution for children and youth “Stanko Paunovic“, where they were welcomed by the director, Mrs. Radmila Mitrovic, and handed over the donation: computer and toys. The Royal Couple stayed in a cordial and close conversation with children and the staff of this institution.
Later during the afternoon, Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited the “Branko Radicevic” elementary school, where they gave eight sets of books about King Peter I Karadjordjevic. The director of the school, Mrs. Vladica Bulatovic, extended greetings to the Royal Couple in her speech and thanked them for the visit and presents.
At the end of a visit, the Royal Couple has visited the Bukovo Monastery, dedicated to Saint Nicholas. |
