ROYAL COUPLE HEAD FOR TEXAS NEXT WEEK TO PROMOTE SERBIA AS AN INVESTMENT DESTINATION
CHARITY GALA DINNER IN AID OF LIFELINE HUMANITARIAN ORGANIZATION
5 May now Serbia Day in Houston
Belgrade, 26 April 2012 - Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine will be traveling to Houston from 27 April to 5 May as special guests of Mrs. Zarine Boyce, President and CEO of Virtuosi of Huston where they will be meeting with Business, Academic and Healthcare representatives in order to establish tighter connections between Serbia and the Houston community. This important visit will be topped by a Charity Gala Dinner and Concert that will take place Saturday, 5 May at the Legend’s Ballroom at the Intercontinental Hotel. More than 450 people will come to this important event which will be followed by a spectacular concert performed by Virtousi of Houston under the title: Legends of the Future: An imperial Evening Celebrating How Sweet It Is.
On arrival in Houston, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine will attend a series of high-profile meetings and receptions that will primarily focus on presenting the investments potential of Serbia. At the same time the Royal Couple will present the healthcare situation and education system in Serbia aiming to provide additional scholarships and programs for students as well as to develop cooperation between Serbian doctors and their colleagues in Texas. During this visit, the Royal Couple will meet with the Executives of the top companies, City Mayors, Rectors, Deans and the Vice Presidents of the Universities, as well as other prominent individuals.
Beside a strict business agenda, they will also visit the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and the Texas Heart Institute (THI) where they will be greeted by Dr. James T. Willerson, President and medical director, director of Cardiology Research, and co-director of the Cullen Cardiovascular Research Laboratories at THI, and also President of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, to further explore the opportunities for cooperation of these institutions with corresponding health institutions in Serbia.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander is also invited to address the Houston City Council and their Royal Highnesses will receive Honorary Citizenship of Houston. At special event, a proclamation will be read by the Mayor Pro Tem, which will declare May 5 as Serbia day.
The famous “Virtuosi of Houston”, a young artists chamber orchestra from Houston (www.virtuosiofhouston.org) will organize a fundraising concert named Legends of the Future: An Imperial Evening, Celebrating How Sweet It Is and dinner honoring their Royal Highnesses on May, 5th.
This charity event will be held in the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel in Houston with a silent auction for which The Royal Couple donated a tennis ball signed by the world best sportsman in 2011 Novak Djokovic. The portion of the proceeds will be contributed to the Lifeline New York Humanitarian Foundation, which operates under the HRH Crown Princess Katherine patronage.
The Royal Couple will also visit the Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Cypress, Texas, where they will attend the Divine Liturgy and meet the local Serbian origin citizens. |
