ROYAL COUPLE AND PRINCE PHILIP HOST SPRING STUDENTS’ BALL “DANCE FOR TWO” AT THE WHITE PALACE

Belgrade, 9 May 2012 – Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Philip hosted tonight a Spring student’s ball “Dance for two” organized by the Student conference of Serbian Universities (SKONUS) at the White Palace. This event is organized to mark the recent membership of SKONUS into the European students’ Union. Spring students’ ball has a humanitarian aspect as well, since as the joint effort of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine Foundation and SKONUS all proceeds from the badges for men and bracelets for women will be in aid of children suffering from Epidermolysis bullosa. 

HRH Crown Prince Alexander II welcomed the guests and praised their efforts in improving the status of students in Serbia, and commended their humanity and solidarity with children who suffer from very serious disease. The Crown Prince presented a special certificate to Mr. Misa Zivic, President of SKONUS.

Mr. Branka Kremenovic, project manager in SKONUS also addressed the guests, while representatives of the Association of parents of children suffering from Epidermolysis bullosa expressed their grattude to Their Royal Highnesses, SKONUS and all the students that gathered on this occasion. 

?fter the official part, the programme was followed by “Orpheus” string orchestra conducted by Mr. Ivan Markovic as well as by performance of  “Piano for us” band and “Balasevic tribute band”.

This humanitarian event was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science, Belgrade Students' center, Coca Cola HBC Srbija A.D, Meridian, Eko-pharm, the Ministry of Youth and Sport and Archive of Yugoslavia.
