H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II
H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II visited Kučevo today, where he delivered humanitarian help to two refugee camps and was present at the formal hand over of the keys of the newly built apartments to twenty one refugee families by the Republic Commissioner for the refugees Mrs. Sanda Rašković-Ivić. Upon arriving to the town, H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II walked to the church “Holly Ascension of Our Lord” through the main street of Kučevo, where he was greeted by several hundreds of its citizens. During his Kučevo visit, H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II called upon the villa “Neresnica” which used to belong to the Karađorđević Family, and is now home for the refugees. On this occasion Crown Prince Aleksandar II delivered humanitarian help in sanitary material. The Republic Commissioner for refugees Mrs. Sanda Rašković-Ivić also visited Kučevo today, where in the presence of H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II and the members of UNHCR, she delivered twenty one keys to the refugee families from the “Kasarna” camp. Upon cutting the ribbon, guests and refugees visited newly built apartments, as well as the refugee camp “ Kasarna” where H.R.H. Crown Prince Aleksandar II also delivered humanitarian help. “Help that I brought to you today is less than you need, but it is given straight from the heart. My wife Crown Princess Katherine and myself will pray that your future becomes brighter and all your wishes do come true”, said Crown Prince Aleksandar II. Sharing the joyful moments with the ones that received the keys, Crown Prince Aleksandar II expressed his hope that the remaining refugee families will soon resolve their difficult living conditions. At the end of this trip, Crown Prince Aleksandar II visited Primary school “Ugrin Branković” where he was warmly welcomed by pupils and citizens of Kučevo. Belgrade, March 29, 2002 |
