THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINEOF SERBIA HOLD HUMANITARIAN EVENT IN CYPRUS IN AID OF GREECE AND CYPRUS

Belgrade, 4 September, 2012 – Their Royal Highness  Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia, their children Prince Philip, Alison and their granddaughter Stephanie through the humanitarian organization Lifeline Hellas held a humanitarian event in Paphos, Cyprus on Saturday 1 September which was sponsored by Hotel AZIA RESORT & SPA.

The event was organized under the auspices of Mrs Elsie Christofias, the wife of the President of the Republic of Cyprus in aid of "Theotokos" foundation for children with mental retardation. Also, an auction was held to support the Children's Convalescent of the Cyprus Red Cross.

Her Highness thanked in her speech the attendees and emphasized the joy of giving specially during these difficult times. She specially thanked Mr. and Mrs. Economides for their great generosity to offer their hotel and the dinner for the event. Mrs. Fotini Papadopoulos, widow of the late President of Cyprus and President of the Cyprus Red Cross welcomed and thanked Their Royal Highnesses for their great humanitarian work.

Greece and Cyprus have been so supportive and magnificent during the difficult times in Serbia and now it is their time. 

The night was adorned with the unique voice of the famous Serbian Mezzo Soprano Jadranka Jovanovic who kindly volunteered to sing for the event.

Present were Mr. Andy and Mrs. Dora Economides, with their daughters Ira and Azia with her husband Marwan Chatila, Representatives of the Embassy of Serbia, Members of Serbian United Nations Peace Keeping Force, Mr. Kypros Eliades who is the Honorary Consul of Serbia in Cyprus with his wife Chara and many others.

HRH Princess Katherine of Serbia founded the humanitarian organization Lifeline www.lifelineaid.org in 1993 in London and then in Athens, Chicago, New York and Toronto who partner with the foundation "HRH Crown Princess Katherine” in Belgrade. The last two years Lifeline Hellas has been dedicated to Greece because of the important needs. One of the major activities of the organization is to provide medical equipment for children's hospitals and support foundations. Lifeline works for the benefit of all those in need, regardless of ethnicity or religion since there are no borders in suffering.
