CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar II and his wife Crown Princess Katherine were present today at the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Mother, wife of the King George VI of Great Britain, and mother of the Queen Elizabeth II. Representatives of European and other Royal families as well as the highest representatives of political, cultural and religious life and most distinguished public figures of the United Kingdom were also present at the funeral. After the funeral HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and his wife were guests at Buckingham Palace, at a lunch organized by the Queen Elizabeth II, in memory of the late Queen Mother. The late Queen Mother and her husband were tied with deep and strong connections to the Royal House of Karađorđević. HM King George VI was the best man at the wedding of King Aleksandar I and Queen Maria, and godfather to their eldest son, King Petar II. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Aleksandar II was baptized in Westminster Abbey. His godfathers were late King George VI and Princess Elizabeth II, now the Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen Mother Elizabeth was laid to rest in peace with her husband in the chapel of Saint George in Windsor Castle.
