PATRIARCH OF ALEXANDRIA PETROS VII AND PATRIARCH OF SERBIA PAVLE VISIT OPLENAC

His Beatitude Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Petros VII with his suite and His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Pavle escorted by Bishop of Bačka Irinej, Bishop of Vranje Pahomije and Bishop of Timok Justin visited Foundation of King Petar I in Oplenac today, where they were hosted by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown Princess Katherine.

Their Royal Highnesses also welcomed members of Anglican and Orthodox Churches Association from Great Britain, headed by Anglican Bishop of London His Grace Richard Charters and Orthodox Bishop of Diocleia, His Grace Kalistos Ware, who are on pilgrimage in Serbia and Montenegro.

Distinguished guests, together with Crown Prince and Crown Princess, were welcomed in front of the Church of St. George in Oplenac by the president of Topola municipality Mr. Miomir Tadić with his associates, the director of the Foundation of King Petar I Mr. Miladin Gavrilović, member of the Privy Council Arch. Dragomir Acović and Mr. Đorđe Novaković, as well as by numerous citizens of Topola.

Crown Prince and Crown Princess put red Easter eggs on the tombs of Karađorđević ancestors, which is a traditional custom on Monday a week after Easter.

After that, a formal lunch was organized for all the guests at the Villa of King Petar I.
