HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AT THE MEMORIAL IN EČKA AND VISIT TO ZRENJANIN

 

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II opened the Memorial “Milica Rakić” at the Ečka pond near Zrenjanin and as a honorary patron of this year’s third race in fishing for children up to 14 years old, he delivered awards to the winners.

About 150 children from the whole Serbia participated at the manifestation in Ečka, which has been held every year in memory of the young girl who was killed during the Nato bombing in Batajnica.

Addressing the present, HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II pointed out that this fishing race is not just a sport event, but also a memorial worthy of a memory of the young Milica Rakić.

“Her death is a tragic event for which there is no excuse, and we should do everything to prevent such evil to happen ever again”, said HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II.

After the opening of the memorial, HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II visited Zrenjanin, where he delivered 20 wheelchairs, as the humanitarian aid to the Health centre “Dr. Djordje Joanovic”.

On the occasion of the visit to Zrenjanin, the hosts headed by the president of the executive council of Municipality of Zrenjanin Mr. Goran Knežević, organized a reception for His Royal Highness at the Town hall, and Crown Prince Aleksandar II thanked everybody on their warm welcome.

After the reception, he went to the National theatre together with his hosts, and after the short walk along the main street, he called upon the Uspenska Church and Spiritual center “Prepodobni Rafailo Banatski”.

During today’s stay in Zrenjanin, HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II also visited the Health centre “Dr Djordje Joanovic”, where he delivered humanitarian aid on behalf of his wife HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
