MONTENEGRO - HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II ATTENDS 75OTH ANNIVERSARY OF MORAČA MONASTERY

 

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II attended the Holy liturgy at Morača monastery today, served by His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Pavle with the members of the Holy Synod on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of this sacred place.

After the liturgy Patriarch Pavle blessed and formally opened the new monastery vault.

Monastery Morača is the endowment of Prince Stefan Nemanjić and it belongs to the greatest and the oldest sacred places of Serbian people, and it has given many famous persons and played an important role in the development of the church and the state. Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije who was the host of today’s celebration belongs to the prominent people from Morača.

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II addressed the present and expressed his great joy for this gathering of Serbian orthodox church, “united in prayers” today.

“Many misfortunes and sufferings are behind us. Many temptation are ahead of us. However we must not despair, but make right what can be made right, with new will, to repent what must be repented and to enter the new era with our heads up, united and in peace with ourselves, with our neighbors, with our conscious and with Our Creator”, said the Crown Prince.

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II was accompanied by the member of the Crown Council Prof. Nikola Moravčević.
