HIS ROYAL HIGHNESSES CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AT THE CELEBRATION OF PATRON SAINT’S DAY OF ARILJE

His Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar II visited Arilje today, where he attended the Holly liturgy served by Archbishop of Australia Nikanor on the occasion of the Patron Saint’s day of Arilje municipality.

After the liturgy, in the yard of the church of Saint Achillius, Holy procession was held, and HRH Prince Aleksandar II cut the “slava” cake according to the old Serbian custom.

The ceremony in the churchyard included the session of Municipality of Arilje headed by the president of Arilje municipality Mr. Zoran Mićović, after which HRH Prince Aleksandar II addressed the present.

“I am very happy because I am with you today, on your Patron Saint’s day. Like Saint Achillius in his time, we must resist the temptation to put ourselves above all and believe that we are the only choice. Only democracy has no alternative, which is what the past half of the century convinced us in ”, said Prince Aleksandar II.

A formal reception was organized for His Royal Highness and other distinguished guests, after which HRH Prince Aleksandar II together with the president of Arilje municipality Mr. Mićović took a carriage around the town.

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II took the advantage of today's visit to go to the National library in Arilje, which was recently reconstructed and get more acquainted with the history of the town.

HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II was accompanied by the member of the Privy Council Arch. Dragomir Acović.
