THE CHANCELLERY OF
HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II VISITS PROKUPLJE
Belgrade, 22 July 2002 – HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II visited Prokuplje yesterday and delivered a medical aspirator and twenty wheelchairs as a donation to the local Health Center from the Foundation of Crown Princess Katherine. Attending the celebration of this town’s Patron Saint Day, Saint Prokopije’s, the Crown Prince walked with the Mayor in the holy procession through the town, that started in front of the Saint Prokopije Church. The procession was led by Bishop Irinej of Nis. Together with the Mayor and Municipality officials, the hosts of “slava”, representatives of the Church and Yugoslav Army, the Crown Prince cut the “slava” cake at the Town Hall. HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II expressed his pleasure for being invited to Prokuplje, to share the festivity with all the citizens of this town. “We have a lot of work ahead of us today, and the work is hard and responsible. The events of 5 October brought new hope and inspired new energy for which we even didn’t know it existed. Therefore keep the hope and do not waste energy in vain”, said the Crown Prince. After handing over Saint Prokopije Awards, for the first time, to the best businessman, the best sport club and the best cultural worker from Prokuplje Municipality, the Crown Prince visited the Health Center of Prokuplje. The Crown Prince gave a medical aspirator and twenty wheelchairs and announced that a dialysis machine will be delivered in the next two weeks. The gifts were from the Foundation of Crown Princess Katherine. |
