THE CHANCELLERY OF
Their Royal Highnesses in Kraljevo
THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AND
GOVERNOR MLADJAN DINKIĆ
Belgrade, 29 August 2002 – Today, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Aleksandar, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Filip, in the company of the National Bank of Yugoslavia’s Governor Mr. Mladjan Dinkić and Serbian Health Minister Dr. Tomica Milosavljević visited Kraljevo where they delivered an ambulance and a neonatal incubator to the ''Studenica'' Health Centre. Governor Dinkić presented the Health Centre with the keys to the ambulance, donated by the National Bank through the big humanitarian action organised by Princess Katherine’s Foundation last June. HRH Crown Princess Katherine handed over a ''Draeger'' incubator which was also donated in the same humanitarian action. ''I am aware that your needs cannot be met entirely from the humanitarian sources, but I also know that every little helps when there is great need and every gift is welcome'', Princess Katherine said. After the delivery, the guests toured a number of hospital wards to study conditions and needs of the institution. After the hospital tour, Their Royal Highnesses and Governor Dinkić visited ''Sveta Petka'' monastery and ''King Petar I'' football club in the nearby village of Stubal, where they received an enthusiastic welcome from a crowd of several thousand. During today’s visit, HRH Crown Princess Katherine also visited the Rehabilitation Centre in Vrnjačka Banja, where she delivered three occupational therapy machines. Later, Princess Katherine visited refugee camps in Vitanovac and Kraljevo, where she delivered food and toys. Their Royal Highnesses also visited “Žiča” monastery near Kraljevo, where they were given a sightseeing tour and luncheon. Today's tour ended with a stroll through Kraljevo, with Their Royal Highnesses and Governor Dinkić walking down the high street and later addressing the citizens gathered in the main square. 'Dear citizens of Kraljevo, you are a royal town, and we are a royal house. What a marvellous opportunity for the house and town to meet'', Prince Aleksandar said, expressing his wish for more such meetings. |
