HRH CROWN PRINCE
ALEKSANDAR II ATTENDS THE CEREMONY AT THE BUILDING SITE OF SAINT SAVA TEMPLE
Belgrade, September 3, 2002 – HRH Crown Prince
Aleksandar II and Prince Filip attended the ceremony at Saint Sava Temple at
Vračar today that marked a new stage in construction of Saint Sava Temple by
putting marble plates on the front side of the Temple.
His Holiness the Patriarch of Serbia Pavle with the members of the Holly
Synod, Serbian Prime Minister Dr. Zoran Đinđić, Ministers of Religion and
Construction Prof. Dr. Vojislav Milovanović and Prof. Dr. Dragoslav Šumarac
and representatives of the Consortium that enabled continuation of
construction works with donations attended the ceremony.
Owing to the Consortium for construction of the Temple, that was founded
several months ago, made of 28 companies and 3 banks, 52 million dinars were
collected.
Marble plates that will be put on the front side of the Temple originate
from Cavalla in Greece and the works should be finished by the end of
construction season next year.
On this occasion, His Holiness the Patriarch of Serbia Pavle with the
members of the Holly Synod prayed for the beginning of the works and the
members of the Consortium were delivered diplomas of gratitude.
HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown Princess Katherine are benefactors
of Saint Sava Temple. Few years ago they made € 200.000 donation for the
construction of the God’s Acre of the Temple.
