DEDINJE COMPOUND OPEN FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC DURING “DAYS OF EUROPEAN HERITAGE”

Belgrade, 14 September 2002 – The doors of Dedinje Palaces were open for the general public today, during “Days of European heritage”, on 14 and 15 September, when throughout Europe citizens were allowed to visit places that are closed for visitors for the rest of the year, following the initiative from the Association of tourismologtists of Belgrade.

This program was carried out with intention to present the Palaces to the citizens as our historical and cultural monuments, and to draw the public’s attention to the importance of protecting and taking care of those jewels of our heritage.

The citizens took a guided tour of the Royal Palace, the Palace Church, the White Palace and the park within the compound which is 100 hectares large.

During “Days of European Heritage”, 6 groups of 50 visitors will see Dedinje Palaces, and the tour is 2 hours long.
