HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II ATTENDS THE FINAL CEREMONY OF THE 68TH VUK’S ASSEMBLY IN TRSIC

Belgrade, 15 September 2002 – HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II attended the final ceremony of the 68th Vuk’s Assembly in Trsic near Loznica today.

Vuk’s Assembly is the oldest and one of the most important cultural manifestations in our country, dedicated to Vuk Karadzic, the founder of modern Serbian culture and literacy.

The host of the ceremony was the president of Loznica municipality Mr. Slobodan Kaitovic, and among numerous invitees were Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Prof. Dr. Gaso Knezevic, representatives of diplomatic corps, as well as the prominent figures of our cultural and public life.

The welcoming speech was delivered by Mr. Slobodan Kaitovic, and then Prof. Dr. Mihailo Pantic held the Assembly Address on the importance of Vuk Karadzic’s work.

The ceremony was ended with the “Comedians”, a play performed by the actors of the National Theatre and the students of the Drama Faculty from Belgrade.
