Their Royal Highnesses meet the highest state officials
of the Republic of Srpska

During the visit to Banja Luka on September 18, TRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Princess Katherine met the highest state officials of the Republic of Srpska.

Their Royal Highnesses were first welcomed at Banski Dvori by the President of Republika Srpska Mr. Mirko Sarovic with Vice-president Mr. Dragan Cavic and Secretary General Mr. Ranko Ninkovic, and then a meeting was organized to discuss marking of the 200th anniversary of the First Serbian Insurrection and building Karadjordje’s Konak in Monastery Dobrun near Visegrad, where the seat of Dabrobosanski Metropolitan would be.

Beside Their Royal Highnesses and President Sarovic with his associates, the meeting was attended by Metropolitan Dabrobosanski Nikolaj, Ministry of religion of Republika Srpska Mr. Dusan Antelj, Minister of Culture Mr. Mitar Novakovic, Minister of Energy Mr. Bosko Lemej, as well as a group of businessmen from Republika Srpska.

After welcoming speeches by President Sarovic and Metropolitan Nikolaj who presented the project to the guests, Crown Prince Aleksandar greeted this initiative, and than said: “I am aware of all the problems and dramatic events that took place in this region for the last ten years, but at the same time I am convinced that we left all ethnic and religious conflicts behind us, for Republika Srpska is a modern democratic state, ruled by peace and tolerance”.

Crown Prince Aleksandar and Princess Katherine also met the Speaker of the Parliament of Republika Srpska Mr. Dragan Kalinic and the Prime Minister Mr. Mladen Ivanic, with whom they discussed current economic and health situation.

Mr. Kalinic and Mr. Ivanic expressed gratitude to Their Royal Highnesses for help and support they have been giving to the people of the Republic of Srpska, as well as for donation delivered to the Clinical Centre of Banja Luka.
