Denial from the Office of
HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II

Belgrade, 20 September 2002 – Regarding the article in today’s “Nacional” titled “Crown Prince Aleksandar supports Labus for € 105,000”, the Office of HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II declares that such statement is without any grounds.

The Crown does not take part in political parties’ campaigns, nor in election contests between candidates for offices at any level.

The Crown supports every program, whether personal or corporate, if its aim is to strengthen democratic structures, economic progress, equality of all citizens under law and tolerance, and has no favored party, nor a favored candidate in elections.

We take the quoting of “Nacional’s source in the Crown Council” as a sheer fabrication and invite “Nacional” to publish the alleged source’s name.

Otherwise, we shall consider our doubts that the above mentioned source is fabricated, as justified.
