TRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT VRSAC

Reception at Vrsac Town Hall

Belgrade, 24 October 2002 – TRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Vrsac today where they delivered a dialysis machine to Vrsac Health Center, after the reception at the Town Hall. During their visit, Their Royal Highnesses called upon Bishop’s Court in Vrsac, at the invitation of Hrizostom, the Bishop of Banat, and then also Vrsac Cathedral where they were met by parish priest Father Laslo Djuris. After that Their Royal Highnesses went to winery “Vrsac Vineyards” and pharmaceutical company “Hemofarm”.

Their Royal Highnesses were first welcomed at the Town Hall by the president of Vrsac municipality Mr. Milorad Djuric with his associates, after which Crown Prince Aleksandar addressed the present:

“Here in Vrsac, which is a border town, you have rich experience in preserving and nourishing relationships between different nations and denominations, and I believe you can set a good example to all in that respect”.

Then followed a cordial conversation with the president of the municipality Mr. Milorad Djuric, in which Their Royal Highnesses particularly expressed their interest in economic and social situation in Vrsac, as well as for the problems of unemployment, refugees, and other current affairs. Mr. Djuric then pointed out that major businesses in Vrsac region are pharmaceutical industry (”Hemofarm” company), chocolate industry (“VIK” company), and wine industry (“Vrsac Vineyards” company). In addition, Crown Prince Aleksandar said that now when have democratic changes in our country, we must all help our Government who has inherited many big problems from the past.
