TRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT NOVI PAZAR

Donation to the University and Health Center

Belgrade, 26 October 2002 –After visiting the Mechihat of the Islamic Community of Sanjak together with Bishop of Raska and Sanjak Artemije, The Crown Prince and his wife together with Mufti Zukorlic, who is also the Chancellor of the newly established University of Novi Pazar, visited this institution and donated a latest generation computer with “Microsoft’s” programs (€ 1,500) as a gift to the students of this University.

Crown Prince Aleksandar II pointed out on the occasion how especially glad he was to donate the computer to the young people who are the future elite of our society, the elite of knowledge and talent. The Crown Prince also mentioned that the Fund of the Royal House of Karadjordjevic was established last year, aiming to help the new generation of experts who will continue their education at the best Universities abroad, and he invited the students to apply for the contest this year.

After the University Their Royal Highnesses visited the Health Center in Novi Pazar where they donated an ambulance “Yugo Skala 101” (€ 4,500 plus) to the director, Dr. Kasim Music, and a thermo bed for babies (€ 2,500 plus).

The delivery of donations was attended by the Mayor of Novi Pazar Mrs. Vasvija Gusinac, Mufti Muamer Zukorlic, and the staff of the Health Center. Princess Katherine addressed the present saying:

“In the last period you worked very hard under very difficult circumstances. I hope the future will be better. Your will and wishes for a better future will be a great support to my husband Crown Prince Aleksandar II and to myself, for our further humanitarian work”.

The director, Dr. Kasim Music most kindly thanked to the Princess, and then took the guests for a tour of the maternity ward and other wards of the Health Center.
