TRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT SMEDEREVSKA PALANKA

€ 10,000 respirator donated to “Stefan Visoki” hospital

Belgrade, 01 November 2002 – On the occasion of visiting Pomoravlje region today, TRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Smederevska Palanka where they delivered € 10,000 worth “Draeger” respirator to the “Stefan Visoki” hospital. Their Royal Highnesses also visited “Palanacki Kiseljak” company, our well-known producer of mineral water.

A warm reception for the Crown Prince and Crown Princess was organized by the Mayor of Smederevska Palanka Mr. Radoslav Ljubisavljevic with his associates. The reception was attended by the representative of the church municipality Archpriest Dragoslav Senic and prominent businessmen of this town.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess were informed about the situation in this municipality, and the Crown Prince said:

“I know that you were facing many problems in the years before, but I am certain that our country, now that the democratic changes have happened, will very soon integrate into European and world courses, through regional cooperation and strengthening economic ties with neighboring countries.”.

After visiting the town Hall, Their Royal Highnesses called upon the general hospital “Stefan Visoki”, where they delivered the “Draeger” respirator as the donation, to the hospital’s director Dr. Predrag Djordjevic.

“Each program of raising aid is demanding, but it is most wonderful when it is over and we know the aid has arrived to the right address. I believe you will use this respirator with knowledge and expertise, to the noblest purpose – to help those who need it most”, said Princess Katherine delivering the donation.

Crown Prince Aleksandar added he hoped the years of working in difficult circumstances, without medications and equipment were behind us, and that a better and healthier future was coming for all of us.

After taking a round of the hospital, Their Royal Highnesses visited mineral water and fruit juices production company “Palanacki Kiseljak”, which has been successful in its business for 280 years, and whose bottled mineral water is named after the Crown Prince’s famous ancestor Karadjordje.
