TRH CROWN PRINCE ALEKSANDAR II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT BOR An incubator and a fully equipped ambulance (€14,500 total) donated to the Health Center Belgrade, 8 November – TRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II and Crown Princess Katherine went to Bor, after visiting Zajecar today, where they donated “Medicina TS” incubator (€ 4,500) and a fully equipped “Volkswagen” ambulance (€ 10,000) to the local Health Center. During this visit Their Royal Highnesses called upon elementary school “Vuk Karadzic”, the Church of Saint George and Brestovacka Banja (spa) and the village of Zlot near Bor. Several thousand of citizens welcomed the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess in front of the Town Hall, after which the Mayor, Mr. Krsta Kalcic hosted a short reception for Their Royal Highnesses. The reception was attended by the general managers of local companies and school principals, representatives of the Association for the Restoration of Monarchy and many reporters who showed great interest in talking to Their Royal Highnesses about current social, economic and other issues. On the occasion, Crown Prince Aleksandar II addressed the present by saying: “I know you inherited the difficult situation in your municipality, especially in the copper mine “Bor”, that many citizens live off. Hard work and transformation is ahead of you, but I believe you will fight for your future, development and democracy, which can only be achieved in everyday joint efforts.” Crown Prince Aleksandar II once again emphasized the need of respect for all citizens, regardless of their ethnic or religious origin, as well as for respect of religious freedom and human rights. He also expressed his pleasure for this municipality, where the Serbs, Wallachs and twenty other nationalities lived, had harmony in national and religious relationships. Their Royal Highnesses then visited elementary school “Vuk Karadzic”, that used to carry the name of King Aleksandar I and that is marking its 65th anniversary. Beside the children and their teachers, The Crown Prince and Crown Princess were welcomed by the pupils of the first generation of this school that was established in 1937. After visiting the Church of Saint George, Their Royal Highnesses went to the Health Center where they delivered the incubator and the ambulance to the director Dr. Dragoslav Savic. HRH Crown Princess Katherine pointed out that the ambulance was the donation of Italian Embassy, that on several occasions made generous donations to our health institutions. “My heart is joyful today for we are handing over to you the necessary medical equipment. This aid is the proof that all over the world there are people of good will and good heart who understand pain and suffering.” On behalf of his colleagues Dr. Savic thanked for the effort and energy the Princess was putting in aiding everyone, especially children. The visit to Bor municipality was finished by calling upon Brestovacka Banja spa, where the villa of Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic and Prince Milos Obrenovic were, as well as going to the village of Zlot, the largest one in Bor municipality, where the local people welcomed the Crown Prince and Crown Princess with songs and dance.
