“GOOD DEEDS ARE ALWAYS IN FASHION”, JOINT PROGRAM OF THE FOUNDATION OF HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE, YUTEF AND TEXTILE, SHOES AND CHILDREN’S CLOTHES MANUFACTURERS

Belgrade, 12 December 2002 – The initial meeting of the textile, shoes and children’s clothes manufacturing companies’ representatives was held at the White Palace, organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, with the aid of YUTEF, Yugoslav association of fashion companies.

The meeting started at 11:30 a.m., and the present warmly greeted TRH Crown Prince Aleksandar and Crown Princess Katherine.

The first meeting of this kind gathered about seventy representatives of various Serbian textile companies.

The aim of the meeting was to organize and proceed with the program “Good deeds are always in fashion”, that should gather textile manufacturers, in order to provide clothes every month, head to toe, for the children of one home for children without parental care.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine welcomed the present, expressing her pleasure for such a large number of participants, and added: “The aim of this program is that each month one home for children without parental care in Serbia gets new clothes and shoes. What is more important than children’s joy, shining eyes and smiles? They are our greatest care and all our love is directed to them. I believe all of you will join this program and that today is the beginning of a wonderful cooperation that will give us many reasons to be happy during the whole next year”.

The representatives of textile companies talked about the problems in their work. HRH Crown Princess Katherine’s estimate that we have great talents and that we should present them to the world, was warmly welcomed by YUTEF members, as well as her offer to connect our local manufacturers to foreign companies.

This was an opportunity to make arrangements of all the details of future cooperation with the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, with the aim to make it long term arrangement, so that every textile company could join the program “Good deeds are always in fashion”.
