A PLANE FULL OF TOYS FOR REFUGEE CHILDREN AND CHILDREN WITHOUT PARENTS

Belgrade, 2 January 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine arrived from Athens today in a private jet owned by “Maria Tsakos” Foundation from Greece. The plane was full of toys for our refugee children and children without parents, and they were donated by Greek citizens on the occasion of New Year and Christmas holidays.

Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by the renowned Greek businessman Captain Panagiotis Tsakos and his wife Dr. Maria Tsakos who have brought warm greetings from Greek people and expressed their support for the efforts of the Crown Prince and Crown Princess to make the upcoming holidays wonderful for our young ones.

Addressing numerous media representatives at Surcin airport, Their Royal Highnesses emphasized once more their gratitude to Greek people and their generosity and care for our children and our people, as well as to Greek media who have supported this humanitarian activity.

Dr. Maria Tsakos, who is in humanitarian work too, expressed her pleasure for being in Belgrade after a long time, and she wished Serbian people a happy New Year and all success and progress in it.

Captain Tsakos added that the people of Greece has great affection for Crown Prince Alexander because of his great love for his people, but also because of his family ties with the Greek Royal Family.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess announced that they will, together with Princes Fillip and Alexander, organize three receptions at the White Palace in Dedinje on 6 January, when 1,200 refugee children, children without parents, Romany children and development challenged children will receive Christmas presents.
