CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR THE CHILDREN AT THE ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC IN BANJICA AND ORPHANAGE IN ZVECANSKA STREET Princess Katherine soon to donate a van to the orphanage in Zvecanska street Belgrade, 7 January 2003 – After yesterday’s delivery of Christmas presents at the White Palace, when Their Royal highnesses brought joy to over 1,200 refugee children and the children without parents, HRH Crown Princess Katherine visited today, on Christmas Day, the children at Orthopedic Clinic in Banjica who could not spend Christmas at their homes, and the children in the orphanage in Zvecanska street. The Crown Princess delivered toys and candies provided by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine with the aid of friendly people of Greece, friends from the USA and many local companies, to the young patients at Orthopedic Clinic. The orphanage in Zvecanska street was donated in bed linen and children’s clothes. The Crown Princess was particularly touched by the joy of the young ones who are in this institution, who ran into her arms and thrilled with their presents started taking out the clothes, socks, scarves and caps. Crown Princess Katherine said that Christmas was the day when we give love, when we try to bring joy to our loved ones, but also to those who don’t have their families, so that they don’t feel alone and forgotten. “Happy children with smiles on their faces that surround me are the most beautiful Christmas present for me”, said Crown Princess Katherine. To the great surprise and joy of the employees of this institution, Crown Princess Katherine announced presenting them with a new Mercedes van on 7 February, the donation of a friend from Greece who had visited the children in Zvecanska street several months ago. |
