ST. SAVA’S DAY CONGRATULATIONS

Belgrade, 27 January 2003 – On the occasion of this holiday dedicated to the first Archbishop and Saint St. Sava the founder of Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbian State and schools. HRH Crown Prince Alexander II sent congratulations to His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Pavle, the Federal Secretary of Religion Prof. Dr. Bogoljub Sijakovic, the Serbian Minister of Religion Prof. Dr. Vojislav Milovanovic and the Minister of Education and Sport Prof. Dr. Gaso Knezevic.

“Saint Sava taught us a lot, and so today we turn to him for moral guidance in our lives. He had made us a nation, directed us to the words of God and the teachings of Christ, showed us how to win over ourselves and over the evil inside us. Through his effort our nation’s life blossomed, Serbian literature was born and our art flourished.”

The Crown Prince wished happy Patron Saint’s Day to all teachers, pupils and students who celebrate this holiday, and wished that the aid and the teachings of Saint Sava stay with them forever.
