THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES LAY FLOWERS, LIGHT A CANDLE AND SIGN THE BOOK OF MOURNERS ON THE OCCASION OF TRAGIC DEATH OF DR ZORAN DJINDJIC


Belgrade, 14 March 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine laid flowers and lit a candle in front of the Government of Serbia today, and in that way joined many citizens who have been gathering at this spot for two days, paying their respects to the tragically departed Dr. Zoran Djindjic.

Obviously shaken, Crown Prince Alexander addressed the media and said:

“I have known Mr. Djindjic for more than ten years. His tragic death has deeply shocked me and my family. I have greatly appreciated and respected his efforts in making democratic changes and bringing our country into the fold of the European family”.

Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine then signed the book of mourners with the words:

“A man can be killed, but not the deed”.

Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses was the member of the Crown Council Prof. Nikola Moravcevic.
