THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES AT THE SOLEMN COMMEMORATION OF TRAGIC DEATH OF DR ZORAN DJINDJIC AT THE GOVERNMENT OF SERBIA Belgrade, 14 March 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended the solemn commemoration of the tragic death of Dr. Zoran Djindjic at the Government of Serbia today. This mournful gathering was attended by the members of the immediate family of Dr. Djindjic: his mother Mila, his wife Ruzica, his sister Gordana, as well as the top officials of Serbia and Montenegro, representatives of diplomatic corps, religious communities, army and police. The present were addressed by the vice president of the Government of Serbia Dr. Zarko Korac who said: “Everybody who have worked for the Government knew that the main engine and architect of all the changes was the Prime Minister, the man of enormous energy and great hope for a different Serbia, for changes that can and must happen. He never cared for long meetings, but always had time for everybody. He was interested in everything and he liked sharing his ideas on how Serbia should look like with everyone. In two years he grew into a symbol of changes and reforms. He was our friend, our comrade, always the source of optimism whenever we used to complain and quarrel, whenever we protested he always had time to calm us down, to give advice and he always used to say to me – don’t get angry, take a look at a broader picture, Serbia must modernize and change. He gave his life for that”. Dr. Korac’s farewell words to the Prime Minister, friend and associate Dr. Zoran Djindjic, have made a very emotional impact on Their Royal Highnesses. |
