SIX HUNDRED YOUNG MUSICIANS ON THE STAGE OF SAVA CENTER

Belgrade, 4 April 2003 - TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Prince Katherine attended the spectacular performance of the famous Carl Orff’s oratorio “Carmina Burana” at Sava Center last night.

The choir and orchestra made up of six hundred young musicians, students of musical schools from Belgrade and Novi Sad, performed this popular piece together with soloists of the Swedish Royal Opera Hilde Leidland (soprano), Jesper Taube (bariton) and Jacques Radinson (tenor), brilliantly conducted by Mr. Bojan Sudjic, who has recently become the member of the Swedish Royal Opera, too.

Beside Their Royal Highnesses, this exceptional performance of the famous opera was attended by the interim President of the Republic and the Speaker of the Parliament of Serbia Mrs. Natasa Micic, the President of the Assembly of Autonomous Region of Vojvodina Mr. Nenad Canak, and the representatives of the diplomatic corps.

Their Royal Highnesses enjoyed this extraordinary musical event organized by the Association of Musical Schools of Serbia.
