PARTICIPANTS OF “EASTER SUMMIT OF DIASPORA AND FATHERLAND 2003” AT THE RECEPTION AT THE WHITE PALACE Belgrade, 30 April 2003 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II hosted a reception for the organizers and participants of the “Easter Summit of Diaspora and Fatherland 2003” at The White Palace tonight. This year’s “Easter Summit of Diaspora and Fatherland” was held in Belgrade, from 28 to 30 April, organized by the Association “Serbian Connection”, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Serbian Medical Society. During last three days the gathered participants have discussed the ways and prospects of strengthening ties between Diaspora and Fatherland; they have improved business connections and agreed on how to invest into local economy; exchanged experiences and opinions in order to improve our health care system and had a number of individual talks on further cooperation that will certainly contribute to the development of our country. During the reception, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II ADDRESSED THE PRESENT: “I hope you have established even stronger ties to the benefit of our country and our people. Our country has suffered in the past and I believe the better days are ahead of us. In the name of our better future I’m happy that my family and I are your hosts tonight”- said the Crown Prince. On behalf of the organizers of the Summit, the Chairman of the Board of the Association “Serbian Connection” Mr. Aleksandar Vlajkovic addressed the present, and once again warmly thanked the Crown Prince for his hospitality and efforts in bringing Diaspora and the homeland closer. In that name, Mr. Vlajkovic presented the Crown Prince with the bronze sculpture “Cyril and Method”. The reception at The White Palace was also attended by the representatives of diplomatic corps, organizers of “MOBA” program for Diaspora youth, and numerous international and local public figures.
