SATURDAY AT KALENIC GREEN MARKET

Belgrade 17 May 2003 - TRH Crown Prince Alexander II, Crown Princess Katherine and the Princess’s daughter Mrs. Alison Garfinkel, went shopping to Kalenic green market today.

Green market Kalenic is in the very centre of the city and is Their Royal Highnesses’ favorite place of shopping. With its almost thousand stands, Kalenic is the largest green market not only in Belgrade, but in the Balkans as well. It is an important part of Belgrade’s history and the city’s spirit.

The Crown Prince and the Crown Princess were delighted with diverse offer of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and dairy products. They bought goods and talked to the sellers who come to this green market from all over our country.

The sellers enthusiastically greeted Their Royal Highness, while advertising their products in their specific way. Spontaneous conversation was joined by many citizens of Belgrade who happened to be in the green market today.
